In this release we proudly present the new Character Generator filter - our latest product, which is designed to take the titling capabilities of your applications to a new level and dramatically reduce development efforts.

The new filter replaces the previously available Text & Graphics Overlay and Flash Overlay DirectShow filters.

The filter is available in the new installer of your SDK edition, so there's no need to download it separately.

For a detailed list of features see the product page:

We have designed our licensing in a way that would make the migration to the new filter seamless and even provide some free benefits:

  • If you have an SDK license and no Flash Overlay Add-On, you will receive the new filter automatically by downloading a new set of license files for your SDK edition from the Support area on our web site. The feature set you will received is marked as "In any SDK" in the comparison chart on the product page.
  • If you have an SDK license and a Flash Overlay Add-On license, you will receive the "SDK Add-On" edition, which is actually identical to the "Pro" version. Meaning that not only you will have the new CG filter with Flash overlay capability - but also a whole set of new professional features free of charge.

The new filter will require a license file. in order to obtain it, please log in to the Support area on our web site and go to "My Licenses" tab. Download the full license files set for your edition of the SDK. If you also have a Flash Overlay Add-On license, please make sure to locate the separate CG license and download it.

If you run into any problems during this process, please contact <sales@medialooks.com> for help.

Since the new filter implements different interfaces, it will be necessary to make certain changes to your code. Please read the FAQ entry below to get a quick understanding of what to do:
