DICOM Reader enables playback of DICOM-compliant MPEG-2 files. The product targets medical microscopic and endoscopic software applications.
MediaLooks DICOM MPEG-2 Decoder can be also used for decompressing video and audio data inside DICOM files in bundle with MediaLooks SDK products that enable developing powerful multimedia applications.
DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) is a file format standard commonly used in medical imaging.
The DICOM Reader DirectShow Filter parses data in a DICOM file, extracts media streams and transmits them to a splitter (demultiplexer). The filter supports IAsyncReader.
To play MPEG-2 media in a DICOM container an MPEG-2 Video Decoder is required.
