A transport stream is a communications protocol for audio, video, and data which is specified in MPEG-2 Part 1, Systems (ISO/IEC standard 13818-1. Transport stream offers features for error correction, as it is designed for transportation over unreliable media (as opposed to program stream, designed for more reliable media such as DVDs). The protocol is used in broadcast applications such as DVB and ATSC.
AVObjects TS Splitter (or Demultiplexer) is a DirectShow filter for demultiplexing a transport stream.
Features
- Play MPEG-2 transport streams from files (.TS).
- Play streaming MPEG-2 transport streams through UDP.
- Special corrections for broken or unreliable transport streams.
- Supported video formats: MPEG-1, MPEG-2.
- Supported audio formats: MPEG Layer 1/2/3 (AC3, AAC coming soon).
- Live program selection/changing during playback/streaming.
- Reverse and variable speed playback for files and transport stream from Time Shifting Engine (coming soon).
